White Friday and Black Friday in the UAE: how to plan ads and offers for 2026
In the UAE, Black Friday is rarely one day. It is a sales season that runs through most of November, carries straight into UAE National Day on 2 December and then into the Dubai Shopping Festival. Shoppers compare prices across Amazon.ae, noon and brand websites, and ad costs rise as every retailer chases the same buyers. Here is how we plan the season so the extra sales are also profitable.

Know the 2026 calendar before you plan anything
Black Friday falls on Friday 27 November 2026, with Cyber Monday on 30 November. In the GCC the event is widely marketed as White Friday, the name Amazon uses for its regional sale, while other marketplaces and retailers run their own branded versions. In recent years the big marketplace events have stretched across roughly the last ten days of November, but the 2026 dates for each marketplace are announced by the platforms themselves, so check Seller Central or your marketplace account manager rather than relying on last year.
The season does not stop at the end of November. UAE National Day (Eid Al Etihad) is on 2 December, and the Dubai Shopping Festival runs from 4 December 2026 to 17 January 2027, its longest edition so far at 45 days. For many retailers this means one long promotional window from early November to mid January, with a short gap that you can use to reset creative and offers.
| Date (2026) | Moment | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 15 November | Early deals and 11.11 promotions | Build audiences, test offers, collect email and WhatsApp opt-ins |
| 16 to 26 November | White Friday week and early access | Launch the main sale, raise budgets, push retargeting |
| 27 November | Black Friday | Peak budget, peak bids, monitor stock and site speed every few hours |
| 28 to 30 November | Weekend and Cyber Monday | Last chance messaging, extended deals on slower lines |
| 2 December | UAE National Day | Patriotic, respectful creative; avoid reusing generic sale ads |
| 4 December to 17 January | Dubai Shopping Festival | Second sales peak, gifting and winter tourism audiences |
Build offers that survive price comparison
UAE shoppers are experienced deal hunters. Many will check the same product on Amazon.ae, noon and two or three brand sites before buying, so a weak or inflated discount is spotted quickly and can hurt trust for the rest of the year. We recommend deciding your offers from your margins first, then choosing the format.
- Percentage off works for fashion, beauty and home, where shoppers expect 20% to 50% headlines. Keep it to the products where you can afford it.
- Bundles and gift sets protect margin better than a straight discount and fit the gifting mood that builds into December.
- Free or faster delivery matters in the UAE, where next day and same day delivery are normal expectations in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
- Instalment payments through providers such as Tabby and Tamara can raise basket value on higher priced items. Show the option clearly on product pages and in ads where the platform rules allow.
- Early access for subscribers rewards your email and WhatsApp lists and gives you sales before auction prices peak.
Before you advertise any discount, check the local rules. In Dubai, sales and discount promotions are covered by commercial permits from the Department of Economy and Tourism, and discounts are expected to be shown against the real original price. Other emirates have their own economic departments. If you sell only online from a free zone, confirm with your licensing authority what applies to you. Honest pricing is also simply good marketing: the regulators and the shoppers both notice fake reference prices.
Google Ads: prepare the account, not just the budget
Search demand for deals, brands and gift ideas climbs through November, and so do costs per click. The accounts that do best are the ones that were ready before the rush. This is the checklist we run with clients in the weeks before the sale.
- Fix tracking first. Make sure purchases, revenue and, where possible, new versus returning customers are recorded correctly in Google Ads and GA4. Smart Bidding can only be as good as the conversion data it receives.
- Update the product feed. Add sale prices with sale price effective dates in Merchant Center so Shopping and Performance Max ads show the right price at the right time, and check for disapprovals a week before launch.
- Write sale ad copy early. Prepare responsive search ads and assets in English and Arabic with the offer, dates and delivery promise, and schedule them so they go live and stop automatically.
- Use seasonality adjustments carefully. Google recommends seasonality adjustments for short events of one to seven days where you expect a big change in conversion rate. They suit Black Friday itself better than a whole month of promotions.
- Raise budgets before you hit limits. Campaigns that are limited by budget on the busiest days lose the cheapest sales. Plan the extra spend in advance and agree on it with finance.
- Protect your brand terms. Competitors and resellers often bid on brand names during sales. Keep a brand campaign running with a strong sale message.
If you want a second pair of eyes on the account before the season starts, our Google Ads agency team in Dubai runs exactly this kind of pre-sale review and build.
Meta, TikTok and Snapchat: warm up audiences before the sale
Social platforms are where most UAE shoppers first see your offer, so the work starts two to four weeks before the sale. Use that time to reach new people with product and brand content at lower cost, then retarget the people who engaged once the offer goes live. On Meta, keep the campaign structure simple, give the algorithm enough budget per campaign to learn, and refresh creative often because fatigue sets in fast when everyone is advertising.
- Prepare at least three to five creative concepts per audience, in English and Arabic, with the offer visible in the first two seconds of video.
- Use vertical video for Reels, Stories, TikTok and Snapchat, with subtitles because many people watch without sound.
- Retarget product viewers and cart abandoners with the exact product and the deadline.
- Exclude recent buyers from acquisition campaigns so you do not pay to reach people who already bought.
Our Meta ads specialists usually split the season into a warm up phase, a sale phase and a short post sale phase for gifting and DSF, each with its own creative and audience plan.
Marketplaces and your own website work together
For many UAE brands, Amazon.ae and noon carry a large share of White Friday sales. Deal submissions on marketplaces close well before the event, so check the deadlines in your seller account now. Increase sponsored product budgets on your best sellers, make sure stock is at the fulfilment centres in time, and watch your advertising cost of sale, because CPCs on marketplaces also rise during the event. Our Amazon and noon marketing team can help with deal planning and sponsored ads.
Your own website still matters, because it is where you keep the customer data and the full margin. Test the checkout on mobile, check page speed under load, confirm that cash on delivery, cards, Apple Pay and instalment options all work, and make sure delivery cut off dates are visible on every product page.
Measure profit, not just revenue
Revenue always looks good in November. The real question is how much profit is left after discounts, ad spend, returns and delivery. Before the sale, agree on a target return on ad spend for each channel that reflects your lower margins during the promotion. During the sale, check results daily rather than hourly, because conversions are often reported with a delay. After the sale, look at the new customers you acquired and how many of them buy again in December and January.
| Metric | Why it matters in the sale season |
|---|---|
| ROAS by channel | Shows which platforms are worth more budget on peak days |
| Blended MER | Total revenue divided by total marketing spend, so you see the whole picture |
| New customer share | Tells you whether the sale grew your base or only discounted existing buyers |
| Return rate | Fashion and electronics returns can erase a large part of November profit |
| Repeat purchase in 60 days | The real value of customers acquired during the sale |
If you sell across several channels and want one plan that ties ads, marketplaces and your store together, our ecommerce marketing agency in the UAE can build it with you. You can also read our guide to ROAS, ACoS and MER before you set your targets.

- Sale weeks: raise budgets, monitor daily, refresh tired creative and move budget to what works.
- After the sale: switch to National Day and DSF creative, retarget buyers with complementary products and write down what you learned for 2027.
Frequently asked questions
When is White Friday 2026 in the UAE?
Black Friday is on 27 November 2026. Marketplaces in the UAE usually run their White Friday sales over several days around it, often across the last ten days of November. Each platform announces its own dates, so check your seller account or the marketplace's official announcement.
Do I need a permit to run discounts in Dubai?
In Dubai, discounts, special offers and sales promotions are covered by commercial permits issued by the Department of Economy and Tourism. Rules differ by emirate and by free zone, so confirm with your licensing authority before advertising a discount.
How much should I increase my ad budget for Black Friday?
There is no single figure. Look at your results from last year, the extra stock you plan to sell and your margin during the sale. Many advertisers raise budgets so that campaigns are never limited on the busiest days, while keeping a clear target return on ad spend.
Should I advertise in Arabic as well as English during White Friday?
Yes, if you sell to Arabic speaking customers in the UAE or Saudi Arabia. Write the Arabic ads natively rather than translating the English version, and test both languages on Google, Meta and TikTok.
What comes after Black Friday in the UAE?
UAE National Day on 2 December and the Dubai Shopping Festival, which runs from 4 December 2026 to 17 January 2027. Plan creative and offers for these moments in advance so you can switch over without a gap.
